Rally: Fund SCS Now!, May 28

Updated: May 23

Marching to Queen's Park on May 28 to demand permanent funding for Supervised Consumption Sites across Ontario

Friends of ON SCS, alongside other organizations in Ontario such as Registered Nurses Association of Ontario, Moms Stop the Harm, HIV Legal Network, and others, are supporting a rally taking place on Tuesday May 28 in Toronto. We are calling on the Province to respond to an open letter sent March 4, and its demands to provide funding to those Supervised Consumption Sites whose applications or renewals have been stalled (including Barrie's).

To date, there has been no response from the Ministry of Health, and the existing Sudbury site was forced to shut down due to lack of funding. Barrie is still waiting for the Supervised Consumption Site applied for (and approved federally) in 2021.
