Council Follow-up, week of May 9, 2022

Updated: Jan 6

A rather quiet week, although several items to note that passed on consent.

General Committee

It was a packed agenda, but most items were approved on consent, other than the item on the Allandale Transit Mobility Hub and Downtown Mini Hub projects, which was held for clarification and information purposes only. The entire meeting lasted only half an hour in total – maybe Deputy Mayor Ward should stand in more often??

The 2021 Investment Management Annual Report was received, as well as its recommendation to adopt the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) integration framework, which supports looking at these factors while making investment decisions.

Other highlights: the 2022 tax rates and Downtown Barrie BIA levy were approved, and the MacLaren Art Centre will be invited to present to Council on May 16.
