Originally this looked like a week off for Council, but a couple of extra meetings got tucked in, last-minute, including the inaugural Community Safety Committee.

The new Community Safety Committee is made up of Mayor Nuttall, Deputy Mayor Thomson, and Councillors Courser and Morales (Courser was absent today). This meeting was also attended by Councillors Riepma, Nixon, Nigussie, Harvey, Harris and Hamilton.
The main focus was a presentation by Police Chief Kimberley Greenwood, on Barrie's Community Safety and Well-Being Plan, followed by questions from Council. Worth a watch!

This meeting was held in camera, as it was a confidential presentation and training session on Council-Staff Relations, and Violence/Harassment in the Workplace Training. May it help this term of Council avoid last term's issues!
