🪧🏍️ Municipal Names Registry - Additional Name and Renaming of a Portion of Bryne Drive

  • Motion / Seconder: Harvey / Nigussie

  • Proposals:

    • Add "Harley Court" to the City's Municipal Names Registry

    • Name part of Bryne Drive to "Harley Court" and renumber the properties accordingly

    • City to assume all costs associated with installation of new street signs, new street number signs for existing buildings, and any fees associated to the changes on systems of third parties

  • It is unclear why both the addition of the new name to the Municipal Names Registry and re-naming of that portion of Bryne Drive need to be forced through immediately as a direct motion. (It would seem much more appropriate to use an existing name on the Registry, rather than name a Barrie street after a U.S. manufacturer based in Milwaukee.) The lack of process, or time for "sober second thought" seems rather questionable.
