New Foundations Project: Quick Start for Affordable Housing Projects on Institutional Lands

• The New Foundations Program launched in August, 2022, and 8 sites were selected to participate (all places of worship or long-term care facilities)

• Six sites received funding to conduct a feasibility study, now complete, the other two received funding to prepare a site survey, engineering works and architectural drawings – total funding to date is $154,065.56

• The total number of proposed residential units is 1335 plus 190 long-term care units

• Staff continues to work with the landowners to help advance their developments
