Media Release, August 16: https://barrie.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=13242882&GUID=9C60C842-A0A7-4851-B00C-5FDB29FAF4D6 "Mayor Nuttall directs staff to pause work on Sports Field to allow for public consultation"
Important to note that this is just a PAUSE, to allow for the public consultation that should have occurred before this matter was decided upon.
It should also be noted that Councillor Courser, seconded by Harris, proposed a pause on the decision (to allow for proper public consultation) back in May -- the Mayor and all other Councillors voted against their amendment.

Advocating for a dedicated revenue stream to solve the mental health and addictions crisis, and for the province to institute legislative changes to allow families and physicians to provide mental health and addiction treatment to involuntary patients
There is a recent paper on the ethics and effectiveness of involuntary treatment here: https://caep.ca/periodicals/Volume_22_Issue_5/Vol_22_Issue_5_Page_629_-_632_Reid.pdf - as this paper indicates, there is no evidence that involuntary addictions treatment is effective.
