⚡️🔌 Draft Environmental Study Report - Municipal Transformer Station and 230kV Line Project

  • Letter from Hydro One and InnPower, March 31: https://barrie.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=13998090&GUID=BBAC4189-AC26-45B2-A7EC-DD5A99369D1F

  • HydroOne and InnPower have completed the draft Environmental Study Report (ESR) for the InnPower MTS and Hydro One 230-kilovolt (kV) Line project

    • This project involves the construction of a new Municipal Transformer Station (MTS) and the replacement of approximately six kilometres of an existing 115-kV transmission line with a new 230-kV line in the existing corridor between Barrie Transformer Station (TS) and the proposed InnPower MTS in the City of Barrie

  • The draft ESR is now available for public comment and review, either at the Holly Library or online at HydroOne.com/InnPower

  • Written comments or questions on the draft ESR must be received by Hydro One no later than 4:30pm on Monday, May 5

🚫🆇 Use of X

  • Resolution by City of Peterborough, March 17: https://barrie.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=14006228&GUID=1A1BCFCE-1EDB-4DB0-A942-63920861D070

  • Peterborough is discontinuing the use of X (Twitter) immediately, except for Peterborough Transit, Fire Services and emergency information, and has directed staff to look for ways to eliminate the use of X entirely

  • This decision was made because X has become a media platform that is not adequately responding to hate speech and misinformation, and continued use of X could be perceived as tacit approval of or association with ideologies that are inconsistent with the City's commitment to freedom, inclusivity and nondiscrimination [it is disappointing that no Barrie councillor referred this item from the circulation list]

A colourful pile of documents, envelopes and letters.
